It's Boot Season!!

I absolutely love fall! Not only because of the amazing weather & beautiful fall colors everywhere but also because I can start wearing my boots!
I love being able to wear jeans or leggings and a big sweater and throw on any of my boots or even a fun dress with leggings and boots. Fall and winter I love to be all about comfortable & cozy & especially warm since it gets pretty chilly here in Virginia. So yes for fall my closet is full of boots, colorful scarves & lots of sweaters! Of of course pretty gloves!
Here are a few of my favorite boot looks for this year. No I don't own them all (only a few), but I do in my mind! :)

                                                  Riding Boots
(Riding boots are always big here in Virginia in Horse country, but they are big everywhere this year. Love them!)
                                                        Wedge Boots
Only a few of all of the amazing boots out there! Off to put mine on now & be out & about for the day!

Apple Festival

This past Saturday we drove over to Graves Mt for the Apple Festival. It was an absolute perfect fall day, 70 degrees, slight breeze blowing and all the beautiful fall colors around us.
I was so happy to see so many people turn out to support the festival. We got some apple cider to drink while walking around and it was so yummy!!
We visited all of the tents and of course bought lots of goodies & even bought some Christmas presents!
Of course we had to eat a funnel cake and have some of the delicious brunswick stew we had been smelling since we arrived and apple pie. We sat beside the creek and ate our lunch before going to pick out our apples.
I was sad that they didn't have any Granny Smith apples (I guess it wasn't a good year for them up here?), but there were lots of other delicious apples to choose from.
We ended up leaving with some Golden Delicious, Fuji and Red Delicious. They are all so good!
It was a perfect family day out before coming home and watching Alabama beat up on Ole Miss! Roll Tide!

Horses

Yesterday we finally got enough of the fence built at our new house that we were able to bring our horses over to their new home.
They were all very excited to get here & especially loved the whole field of new green grass that is all theirs to eat! This was the first time Baby Lacy rode on the trailer and it was quite an adventure getting her on there but she came off easily and has been jumping around and playing since she got here.
This is going to make things so much easier. No more going back over and feeding the horses ever day or going back over so Abigail can ride. Now they are all right here in the back yard. So excited to be able to watch Baby Lacy grow more and more each day!

Roll Tide Roll!!

My favorite time of the year is in full force! Football Season!!!
Of course living 12 hours away we don't get to go to every game anymore but we get to as many as we can! And since we played Penn State in Happy Valley today that was closer than a home game for us.
Penn State was the first game we were able to go to this season and we had so much fun!! Dad & mom drove up and Justice flew in. We rented an RV for the weekend and drove over on Thursday for an eventful weekend full of Alabama football! The Penn State fans were so overly nice and went out of their way to welcome you to Happy Valley.
We also got to make the Alabama vs. Arkansas game. Lee drove down a few days early and Abigail and I had a new experience by taking the train! Whew what an experience indeed! Overnight, 18 hours on a train with pretty much no sleep makes for a tired Katie. It was neat to be able to see site that we normally don't get to see while driving or flying, but next time we will definitely be in the sleeper car! We stayed with Lees family in Tuscaloosa for the weekend and it was good to get to see everyone & for Abigail to get to see and hang out with her cousins Davis, Libba & Turner some.
The game turned out to be great! Not near as close as we were expecting, which is just fine with me! My heart can't take the close ones!
Can't wait for the homecoming game this weekend and for the rest of the season! Although I am wanting it to go slowly by because I don't want the season to end!

Headed to the game

Peachy Paterno! YUM!!

September came & went

September came so quickly & then like a flash it was gone!
September brought the start of a few exciting things though.
